513909b737e82_@!@_Stell, Virginia_5x7A longtime cancer research assistant currently transitioning into the veterinary field, Ginger Stell will complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from the North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine in May of 2013. While completing her degree, Ms. Stell has gained practical experience working at Banfield Pet Hospital in Garner, North Carolina, as a pet nurse. In this capacity, she handled a wide range of duties, including conducting physical examinations and developing differential diagnoses and treatment plans. In addition to her work with Banfield Pet Hospital, Ginger Stell held a senior externship with the Humane Alliance of Western North Carolina, where she gained experience in high quality-high volume spay and neuter surgeries.

Prior to entering veterinary school, Ms. Stell spent more than a decade working in the chemistry and healthcare fields, holding positions with industry leaders such as Resolution Performance Products (formerly Shell Chemical Company) and SABIC Americas. Most recently, Ms. Stell served as a research assistant supporting the surgical oncology and immunotherapy departments for Carolinas Healthcare System.

Ginger Stell holds a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from Rice University. During her free time, she enjoys hiking, reading, and sewing.
